Ariana Bindman is an award-winning features reporter based in Oakland, California.

She currently writes for SFGATE, where she primarily covers news, history, science, culture and commerce. Her work has been cited by VICE, Politico, the Financial Times and many other outlets, leading to invitations to speak on radio stations like KCRW and NPR. Her story on Oakland’s abandoned car epidemic won a San Francisco Press Club award in 2022, and most recently, the rights to her viral article, “The Most Unusual Heist in America Seems to be Unfolding at Taco Bell,” have been acquired for film and TV adaptation.

In her spare time, she likes unearthing vintage artifacts and spending time with her black cat, Mona.
